Wintering Over in Alpine, Texas

I am a full time RVer. That means I live in a RV all the time.  My wife and I sold our house, cars, motorcycle, boat, shop tools, the big truck and all the things you normally collect over the years.  We kept our old dodge pick-up and a camping trailer along with a few things we use from day to day.  No regrets, no looking back, life is great!  We are living our dream of traveling the country.
Finding the right place to winter over is somewhat of a trick.  This year we are in Alpine, Texas near Big Bend National Park.  West Texas can get a little chilly at times, 2 snow storms so far.  It‘s winter in the northern hemisphere and being south is no guarantee of summer weather.  Unlike the winters up north, most days are sunny and warm and at night, the stars are amazing!
Most every night I spend a few hours stargazing.  Quality time spent watching for meteors, checking Jupiter’s progress, tracking the occasional satellite and the involuntary UFO vigil.  UFOs!!  Everyone who has seen something strange in the sky thinks “UFO” for moment.  I have seen a few strange things and heard a few stories.  It’s fun to speculate.  However, it’s not in my nature to except things without positive proof.  So, my search continues for proof of alien life, bigfoot, paranormal activity…etc.  This blog is about the things I find interesting and enjoy.  Science, because it’s not enough for me to know the grass is green, I want to know why.  I hope you enjoy this blog.
My goals for 2013, start a blog, write a book and improve my health.  The blog is up and running!  The book has an outline and 3 (fragmented) chapters!  I fixed the flat tire on my bike and rode 10 miles yesterday!  So far so good!
